In 2007 the world just seems to keep getting better for those who are already ahead of the pack. If you can afford to always buy the latest iPod and if you can afford to regularly drink coffees in places where they cost $4.25 like Starbucks, here is some great news for you. Pretty soon you can just sit down in one of Starbucks’ comfy chairs, punch in your order for a Grande Mocchachino on your iPod and get an alert when the hot coffee is ready for you to pick it up at the counter. Now there’s some high tech line-jumping.
A great step

I’ve been having some discussions on the next steps for Twitter, specifically on how Twitter could start to make some money. Hate the service or love it, there is a lot of traffic and communication going on in Twitter. However, eventually the venture capitalists that paid for the development of the service so far (Charles River Ventures, Union Square Ventures, Marc Andreessen) are going to want to see some kind of return on their investment. So how could Twitter bring that?

I guess that internet Read on…

At my house we love Heroes, the great NBC TV series. I just bought the first season of Heroes on HD-DVD (looks great, and you also get some pretty cool online extra’s). I got the XBOX 360 HD-DVD player (a steal at $179,-) a little while ago and I am really enjoying the image quality.
In the series there is a painter that paints the future - one of his works is the eclipse painting you see with this article. I want that painting! Or, at least I’d like to have a high resolution image of it (1280X1024). Can someone point me in the right direction?
(by the way, sorry for being slightly offtopic, this article was really meant to be posted to another blog but I posted it here by accident ;)

Well, it’s the end of the year, always a great time for top 10 lists. Via the center for Media research I stumbled upon this recent Nielsen data that provides a deeper look at online video, the entertainment industry and movie theater advertising. Lists include consumer demographics, viewers, advertisers, ad types and sizes. In total, a great snapshot of where the U.S. internet stands at the end of 2007. For starters, here are the Top 10 online video and movies destinations - and their reach. Read on…

Microsoft and Viacom just announced that they have signed a landmark 5-year strategic alliance. The companies will collaborate on content distribution, advertising, event promotions and gaming. Microsoft’s “Atlas'’ ad serving platform will be used for all Viacom U.S. web sites. After becoming a syndication partner of Hulu, this seems to be the next big step in Microsoft/MSN’s content strategy :)

Okay, a quick fun post here. If you have never been to Facebook, just move on, you will not get it.
I was seriously laughing out loud when I saw this. Thanks to @Crossthebreeze for pointing this out, kudo’s to Straight from my Brain, the creator.

This week Daisy Whitney posted a great article on Webvideoreport.com, showing that the forms and cost to advertise with Web-video content vary wildly from web site to web site in the American market. I’ll shamelessly copypaste a quick summary of the ad forms and rates here and jump to a conclusion.

I am hardly the world’s most active Twitter user, I tend to listen (’lurk’) a lot more than actively take part, but I do value the experience. My Twitter channel is like a cafe where I know the regulars. One that is open night and day. Even if I can’t always come in and join the crowd for a beer and a discussion I like to take a peek inside. See what people are talking about.
OK, a lot of the time it is basically the same thing as the chatrooms we’ve known since the 90’s, but there are more ways to connect and take it on the road, and obviously the social networking elements are integrated better.(http://twitter.com/jer00n)

I like Twitter best when it works as a second layer over another reality. Combined with other Read on…
